Since the ugg phenomena hit the UK I have been wearing sheepskin boots and getting taunted by my peers. Is this right?
Everywhere you look, be it in Heat magazine or the Sun you will see celebrities wearing the latest sheepskin fashion boots. So why is it OK for the ladies to look Chic and yet still keep their tootsies warm whereas us chaps have to stick to trainers?
It is now 5 years since I first slipped on a set of sheepskin boots and from the moment my toes hit the insides I was in love with them. I have since moved to the Alps where you would think that the cold conditions and the excessive strain of a days snowboarding on your feet would lend to a more favourable opinion from the boys. Oh no.
Now admittedly I tend to wear my boots around the house as a high class slipper, or when I take off my snowboard boots at the bottom of the slopes and drive back home. Now yesterday, be it lazy or be it a more daring move, I wore them out to the supermarket to fetch my dinner. Lo and behold I bumped into the snowboard crew only for them to look down at my feet and the taunting started.
Now it’s a good job that I couldn’t give a hoot what other people think of me, so long as my feet are warm, I’m a happy man.
The question I am posing though is what can we do to promote the sheepskin phenomena into the male market force?

I am going skiing soon and i was needing some Apres ski boots. Most are ugly and not very comfortable. I found out that Ugg’s can be used but they are expensive so i was wondering if Bear paw boots which are basically the same but cheaper are ok? It says they are waterproof and keep your feet at a constant temperature, but i didn’t know if they were ok for the snow?

just get some north face or new balance type boots. they are adequate for use in snow….you know, uggs are uggly and the knock offs wont look any better. also, water will stain and stiffen the suede part…after a while the ugg-ly gets ugglier.

What brand of classic mid/tall sheepskin boots should i buy? i dont want uggs or emus?
I did some research so here are some suggestions: whoogas, koolaburras, kiwi sheepskins, staheekum, sheep dawgs, sheepskin.com, minnetonka, etc. lol they’re funny names but i would like the ones that are best quality and look the best. i dont want to have to spend $140 on them though, so any suggestions?
you get what you pay for, your not going to get good quality sheepskin boots without a price. If i were you i would get uggs, but emus are less expensive, and there on sale right now because its the summer months. If spending that much is really out of the question try ebay, make sure you check their feedback before you buy
